"Yeti Ready" is the fortieth episode of Season 1 of Harvey Beaks.

Synopsis[]

Irving goes to Rooter's survivalist family for help when he becomes afraid that he isn't prepared to protect his family from an imaginary yeti.

Plot[]

The episode starts with Harvey and Irving having a father-son walk, until they find a mushroom pizza. As both pick it up, it is revealed to be a trap from Rooter, who was in the process of hunting down the infamous devilish threat of the woods...The Yeti!!!

Irving calls his bluff by saying that Yetis aren't real, which rooter denies by showing them a "real" blurry and pixelated picture of the monstrous Yeti. After Rooter leaves, Harvey disbelieves it, Irving, however, becomes paranoid and convinces Harvey that Yeti proofing is necessary to keep the family safe. Irving and Harvey proceed to attempt to turn their house into a fortified Yeti proof base. Unfortunately, their efforts are immediately shown to be futile as the twins arrive and break through their "Yeti proofing". Panicked, the Beaks head off to Rooter's home, where they instantly set off another one of Rooter's traps upon arrival. We are then introduced to Rooter's father Mitch who takes Irving and Harvey out of the hole. Irving begs Mitch to teach him how to Yeti proof his home and Mitch agrees.

Upon entering the Wellington Bunker, they are greeted by the rest of Rooter's family. Rooter's mother, Britney; Rooter's baby brother, Roger and finally Rooter's paternal grandfather, Captain Wellington. We are also introduced to the various booby traps and top of the line security camera system that the Wellington family set up in their home and all over the forest.

Miriam arrives home from work and is greeted by the twins "Yeti Proofing" the house, but her son and husband are nowhere to be seen. Miriam immediately pieces together that Irving was behind this nonsense. Annoyed and irritated, Miriam heads to the Wellington Bunker to confront Irving. As Miriam furiously draws closer to the bunker she ends up triggering and falling right into another one of Rooter's traps.

Miriam's fall triggers the "Yeti signal" and Rooter switches to camera footage of an angry Miriam calling Irving's name in frustration. A scared Irving tells Mitch that he should probably go out to help Miriam get out of the hole, however Mitch tells Irving that it isn't wise to go out there since the traps are explicitly made to only be triggered by Yetis. Because of this, Mitch and the rest of the Wellington family suspect that the person in the hole isn't actually Miriam but is instead a shape-shifting Yeti. This paranoia causes the Wellingtons to gear up to attack her! Irving tries to stop them, but Rooter traps him. An equally paranoid Harvey joins the Wellingtons in their quest to kill the Yeti once and for all.

Irving trapped and worried for his wife's safety decides to push one of the booby trapped ornaments, which causes an arrow to shoot straight towards Mitch making him fall straight into another trap. Rooter and Britney come to Mitch's rescue but he explains to them that only a Yeti can fall into a Yeti trap, so he comes to the conclusion that he must have secretly been a Yeti the whole time. His family is devastated by this news....except for Captain Wellington that decides to shoot him with an arrow anyway. Rooter attempts to stop his grandpa from shooting his dad but in doing so inadvertently ends up trapping the rest of the family in the hole with Mitch. This leads to Mitch coming to the conclusion that they were all Yetis this whole time.

Harvey, having a mental breakdown due to the revelation, furiously approaches Irving under the belief that he is also a Yeti and that no one can be trusted. Before Harvey impales him Irving decides to finally admit that this whole thing was all his fault and tells Harvey about the many little quirks that he knows about him and how much he loves him to prove that he's actually his father and not a monster. Harvey, coming back to his senses, frees him and they both hug. Irving and Harvey then decide to leave the bunker, since the place is driving everyone crazy.

The Wellingtons manage to free themselves but decide to go on a quest to find the "Yeti Hive" under the belief that they're actually Yetis. They leave baby Roger alone in the bunker with Rooter giving him a final speech about "living a Yeti free life".

Harvey and Irving have a short chat about the sheer insanity of Rooter's family and prepare to go home. However, as they're about to leave they hear an angry yell from none other than Miriam (still stuck in the hole). Irving tries to play innocent, but Miriam remains angry as the episode comes to a close.
